New Dry Shampoo Update on Batiste

Before this blog becomes completely shoes, and some occasional purses and beauty products, I need to add a short review for another dry shampoo. Batiste, original scent.

When I did my dry shampoo review back in December 2013 two of my best friends asked me if I had ever tried Batiste and I had not. I started using Batiste in January and I must say I've been really impressed. It controls even my super oily hair and lets me skip a shampoo day.

So far I would rank my favorite dry shampoos in this order:

1. Bumble and Bumble hair powder
2.Got 2b Rockin It dry shampoo
3.Batiste dry shampoo

Sadly, TRESemme doesn't even make the list for me. I used half the bottle and gave it a fair chance.

When I found the Batiste in my neighborhood Kroger I saw that another one of my favorite hair product companies also has a dry shampoo. Big Sexy Hair also makes one! I'll let y'all know what I think of that one once I try it.

My Powdered Wig

I was getting my pedicure and manicure yesterday with my best girlfriend and her sister (also my good friend) and a reminder popped up on the calendar on my phone that said, "Powdered Wig."

"What the heck is this?" I asked myself. Then I remembered my conversation with my bff the night before when we were coming back from Oporto, a great wine bar in Houston.

When we were leaving Oporto I saw the M Hair Salon next door and I told her that I've been there before to buy my Bumble & Bumble powder hair spray. I have SUPPPEEEERR oily hair and I can't skip one day without washing my hair.  If I do I have to spray my hair with Bumble & Bumble in brown. Sometimes I need to spray it even if I've washed it but I'm still having an extra oily day.

The spray works a lot like baby powder does. When someone has really oily hair they sprinkle baby powder in their hair and then comb it through. The powder absorbs the oil and then the hair looks less oily and is fuller and more manageable. My friend told me it's called Dry Shampoo, I didn't know that. I just call it my spray powder.

Three years ago I read about Bumble & Bumble in Oprah magazine and I decided to try it. LOVE IT! It is so great for those days when I don't wash my hair. I just spray it, comb it through after it sets, and violà, I have semi-non-oily hair again.

I was telling my friend that the only part I don't like is the texture of my hair. It gets kind of too dry sometimes or I have a pouffy feeling. She asked if it felt like a powdered wig and that is EXACTLY what I imagine a powdered wig would feel like.

They say that fashion repeats itself so I guess the powdered wig is back in style only this time it's disguised by the dry shampoo look.

Recent Interesting Finds

I said a while back that I wouldn't wear flats any more, unless they are tennis shoes. Although I do wear a shoe that's a cross between a tennis shoe and a flat with little straps. That was until I found this Loeffler Randall shoe. I just really like this look! They come in some other cool colors like a pretty brown, gold and rose, but I just bought the classic black because I can match it with more things. Who knows, if I really like it maybe I'll go back for another color, like the brown or rose. And best of all they're at TARGET!

I also found out about a really cool product by Bumble and Bumble that is a hair powder. I read about it in the January issue of O Magazine. It's great for oily hair like mine because it absorbs the oils and makes your hair fluffier. You can see it on the site, but you have to buy it at a salon that carries it. I found out that Inside Blu and White A Salon in Houston carry it. I'll let y'all know what I think after I get it.
